Concept
Pastor Renoel and his son Iel wanted a symbol that would embody the principles of the gospel in a way that would represent them. A great mission. I began to reflect on one of the principles that Jesus brought, which was that there are no racial differences that are the object of God's love. And his choice of his disciples was a demonstration of this.
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you."
John 15:16
The birth of the idea
In choosing the twelve, Jesus made a point of bringing together people with different personalities, but who were still simple of heart.
To symbolize this, I took the two most basic forms and then generated two others from them.
The construction
The love present in the gathering of these people in the name of the Lord Jesus came in a beautiful way in the construction. A group of different people who come together on top of a hill to learn to live according to an unparalleled love.
“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”John 15:12
A bonus for anyone who figures out that the combination of the pieces resembles a + or a cross.
Complement to the idea
Following this reflection, I thought about where the demonstration of Jesus' love culminated: on Mount Calvary (John 19:17-18). The IBPA community meets in a neighborhood located in one of the highest points of the city. Appropriately, the letter A (Alto - High) resembles the basic shape of a mountain.
Colors and versions
Black was requested to represent the seriousness of the institution, while brown was chosen to incorporate a texture present in the solid wood pews of the church, and it was finalized by Jesus's occupation of carpentry.
Among the signatures considered, we have the symbol, with the full name, and a version with the initials.
Testimony
Thank you Lucas, you understood the idea well and your work will contribute to IBPA's goal of becoming relevant to the community in which we are involved.
